This blog is an online expression of my thoughts, about my country and how my life revolves around her. The dream to live here forever and involve myself to make a change about things which matter to me. My love for motorcycles and touring my country on them. My passion for being in the midst of people who make up our country.

I am a brahmin by caste, the government in my country considers me as an over previledged individual of the society irrespective of my income or family assets. The Government thinks as I am already an over previledged individual because I am a brahmin, I should not have the oppurtunities of employment or education what another individual belonging to a lower caste gets. Reason for this kind of step motherly treatment to me, because some brahmins somewhere subjected other sections of the society to social injustices. Hence, the highly respected Government in my country is mulling I should also be punished. All I know, the government in my country doesnot wants me 'cause of the lack of votes from my caste, making me feel disowned in my own country. All this peaceful demonstrations against the proposed Reservations for Sc/St/OBC looks good, but they will only fizzle out in time. The reservations will come, and we will shout our voices hoarse, get some literal back breaking treatment from our esteemed police forces and then confine to our daily chores in a few weeks. Its about time, we, the people of India, come out of the Gandhian principles and learn to snatch our rights when they are unjustly denied.

how very true.... being born a bramhin surely invites the wrath of the Govt of the very country that we toil for and pay taxes too. Taxes that we pay, btw, are used for the upliftment of the same SC/ST/OBC that deprive us of our education and jobs. WHY may I ask, do we have to subsidise the SC/ST/OBC when we ourselves are eeking out a living for ourselves - with every increase in the fuel prices we have to rebudget. Its NOT a case of giving them some from the extra that we have (God knows we dont have any extra too), but its like the Govt is ripping our shirts from our backs, and hammering us if we protest. In many cases the same SC/ST family is much more well off than an average UC is. Check the people who go for a foreign holiday or owna car above 6 lacs AND claim reserved seats! Then why this reservation, if one gets it easy why will he/she fight for it. Without the inherent struggle for betterment (merit list) where wil the enrichment come from?? Does the Govt understand this fact of nature....I guess not.

This is not democracy - its BULLYING. India will be reduces to a nation of free seats and worthless intelligence quotient.

One way out - Upper caste should come out in droves at voting time making itself a veritable VOTEBANK to the politicians and then we will surely see Reservations for the Bramhins and UC (upper castes) too..maybe, as our below average politicians understand only the language of Vote (apart from corruption which they take for granted as their birthright)

I see a very bleak future for citizens in India at teh present rate. NEED TO DO SOMETHING RIGHT NOW>

hey shamik . i rearly get into political discussions . i always thought the reservation principle was a bohemian concept with good intension what with the lower castes being opressed for thousands of years by the higher castes . but ur words on the higher castes having a lesser vote bank than the higher castes makes sense . that was a new perspective for me . will change my stand on the reservation issue a little . i still think it was a good thought when it was concieved during the independence era . unfortunately its being wrongly executed by the govt . i think its time the reservation bill goes away . atleast in the metros. this is Alroy btw. cheers
